Robert Prigent, Chef and Associate
Robert preparing meals at “Le Café du Monde” since 1987. The kitchen works as a team. Robert is born in Britany. He is determined and believes in his team work. He manages a kitchen of over 20 employees and his now also executuve chef for the company.

Getting to Know the Chef
His goals: To serve generous portions of unpretentious, well-prepared and tasty dishes on beautifully arranged plates. His tricks of the trade: Staying abreast of the latest trends (he believes that dry beans will soon become a staple of restaurant fare!). What he loves doing: Taking a classic, though little-known, dish and making it the talk of the town (ex.: our legendary Duck Confit!) He has a soft spot for: Being asked to prepare a dish he would enjoy cooking! What he hates: Being copied! What he values most of all: The team working with him.

Marie Simard, Senior Manager

This new face at Café du Monde is no stranger to restaurant and concert hall openings. She is a firm believer in providing excellent customer service and the first person you see when you arrive at the top of the large staircase. Her ever-present smile is a good omen for your visit!

Written in the Stars
Marie is true to her Chinese astrological sign of the Horse: proud, hard-working, talented and very friendly. The only "burr under her saddle" would be someone demonstrating a total lack of tact and good manners. Luckily, Café du Monde includes no such burr, which is why she chose to join the team.

Mario Audet, Manager

When Jacques Gauthier and Josée Hallé acquired Café du Monde in 1990, Mario was part of the package. He admits to being only an average server at the time, but his talent for entertaining clients and keeping the staff's spirits up resulted in him remaining with the team.

Three Reasons to Love Mario
One: He will go to extraordinary lengths to find you a table, even if it means conjuring one out of thin air! Two: He remembers your likes and dislikes and will do everything he can to accommodate them. Three: He is in charge of the wine cellar and its 2000 bottles of wine that have been lovingly chosen to please the palate.

France Ruest, Server
She was hired by Café du Monde in 1990 and has been with the bistro ever since! France is a consummate professional, having both an elephantine memory and winning smile! She knows all her clients, who simply adore her!

Have You Seen France Ruest?
Do you hear someone humming in the dining room? Must be France! Did you feel a breeze as something whooshed past you? It was France! When the servers are feeling harried, who is it that remains unflappably calm? France! Did you forget which dish you ordered? Did you forget your anniversary? Then ask France. She knows everything!

Wilson Juneau, Server
You have to see him in action! For over 10 years, he has been performing his Café du Monde choreography, waltzing plates, glasses and clients back and forth across the dining room floor. Each movement is quick and precise-never too much or too little. Wilson is friendly, likeable, always smiling and above all, very cute!

Server, Writer and Singer
When is not working, Wilson divides his time between writing and singing. A talented artist who, like Réjean, plays the piano in the bistro for the pleasure of our clients. Our greatest fear is that an agent will spot him and steal him away!

Rock Landriault, Barman
He is tall, funny and been the Café barman for 10 years! You will easily spot him when entering the bistro, since he stands head and shoulders over everyone else. If you are eating alone, take a seat at the bar. His quick wit and caustic sense of humour will add a little spice to your meal!

Rock Has a Way With People
If you bring your children to Café du Monde, you will see that Rock has a way with people! It's a fact: children do not like sitting still in a restaurant. Rock will make you feel at ease right away and whip up a special treat for the kids: colourful, made-to-order cocktails topped with a cherry and tiny paper parasol!

And the Rest of Our Staff
We have some newer faces among the veterans, and every one of them a restaurant industry professionals! Proudly dressed in their black vests and white aprons and impeccably attired from head to toe, our servers will make you feel right at home with their easy smiles and warm personalities.
