Café du Monde has established principles for the wine we serve. Not only were we the first bistro in Quebec City to sell wine by the glass, we have also "enacted" a Wine Law that we apply rigorously, much to the delight of our clients.

Rule Number 1: Your thirst shall determine the price of the wine you drink

Order a bottle of wine from our list of wines sold per glass and drink only as much as you want. You will be charged only for the number of glasses ordered.

Rule Number 2: Wine served per glass

Choose from our regularly changing list of wines sold per glass. The taste and freshness of the wine is maintained through our Préservin system. The price of a glass of wine is approximately equal to 1/5 of the cost of the bottle (5-ounce serving).

Rule Number 3: The wine shall be served at the correct temperature

Our wine cellar allows us to keep our different wines (white, red, Bordeaux, Beaujolais...) at exactly the right temperature for maximum enjoyment.

Rule Number 4: An original selection

We are constantly looking for new wines offering the best price-quality ratio. We closely follow the arrival of new products at SAQ Sélection. We also privately import over twenty exclusive vintages.

Rule Number 5: Affordable wine for your enjoyment

We calculate a reasonable profit margin based on the category of the wine. And to allow you to fully savour your selection, we serve bottle brand French spring water with each bottle of wine purchased.
